Terms & Conditions
** Please read our Terms and Conditions for Classes before you proceed to register for the class or online class.
Physical / Hands-on Classes / Events
- Duration: Duration of class or event might be extended instead of the stipulated timings, due to various factors. Please buffer extra time in case our workshop over-runs.
- Punctuality: Classes start promptly, so please arrive at least 5 minutes before the scheduled class start time. If you are late, we will not be obliged to wait for you to start the class. You are welcome to stay back after the class to ask questions.
- Full Payment to Secure Reservation: Fees for scheduled classes must be paid fully in advance to secure your booking. All the fees listed in our website is in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and inclusive of GST (Singapore Good & Services tax).
- Fees & Quotes: Kindly note that our class fees or quotes are inclusive of instructor & assistant(s) fees, venue / rental costs, additional food preparation and pre-work time & costs, ingredients, materials & packaging costs, equipment rental costs, electricity & utilities costs and transport & parking costs etc.
- No Refund Policy & Replacement for Workshop Allowed: Our standard terms & conditions state that we do not offer refunds for confirmed workshops. Payment will be fully forfeited in the event of No Show, hence we recommend that you arrange for someone to attend in your place, only with exceptions to compassionate reasons & hospitalization stay (relevant official document must be produced as proof). Please inform us of the person who will be attending in your place at least 1 day ahead of the class. Once your booking is confirmed, no refunds or transfers to another class will be given.
- Registration / Class Sign Up: Registration will generally close 2 days (48 hours) ahead of workshop as we need time to purchase, prepare ingredients and tools for the workshop. For certain workshops, our instructors and studio need to pre-bake or complete pre-work to ensure the smooth running of our workshops.
- Workshop Cancellation: In the event that the minimum number of participants is not met (it varies with the type of class), the class will be cancelled or postponed. We will inform you via WhatsApp typically 48 hours before start date. You can choose to either get a refund of the class fee or attend another class of the same value or top up the difference.
- Small Group / Individual Hands-on Work: Participants may be expected to work in groups of 2 during hands-on classes (or bigger groups in teambonding events) during our hands-on classes. They will decorate their own pastries/desserts to take away from the workshop.
- Students’ Responsibility/Allergies/Dietary Restrictions: If you have any food allergies / restrictions or medical conditions, it is crucial that you make known to us before joining our classes and making payment. We will inform you if we are using any of the mentioned ingredients for the classes. We will not accept any responsibility and cannot be held responsible for any allergies, illnesses or reaction.
- Cleanliness: We have taken extra measures in maintain cleanliness in our studio. For Hygiene reasons, we would request that students do not take anything out of the drawers and cabinets on their own. If you need any assistance, please approach our instructor and assistant(s) for help. For good hygiene purposes, please discard all waste (except recycled containers) in the waste bins directly, instead of leaving them on the worktops or inside the aprons’ pockets. Participants are expected to keep the worktops clean and uncluttered during the workshops.
Risk Assessment and Release
- Mishaps / Negligence: While ArtZ Baking & Culinary will take considerable care in creating a safe and welcoming learning environment for all participants and their properties, you acknowledge that your attendance or participation at any class or event is at your own risk. You release and indemnify ArtZ Baking Culinary, its employees and service providers from any and all claims, actions, suits, proceedings, liabilities, damages, losses, compensation, costs, charges and expenses whatsoever in any way arising out of or resulting from your attendance or participation in an event including, without limitation, any and all claims, actions, and liabilities for injury, loss or damage to you, to anyone else or to any property, unless the same was caused by the gross negligence of ArtZ Baking Culinary Studio and recoverable on that ground following judgment of a competent court of final judgment.
- Damage to Property: You will reimburse ArtZ Baking Culinary for any damage to its property caused by yourself/your child/ward (including all equipment and structures within the premises) while you/your child/ward are on the premises.
- Accident/Emergency: In the case of an accident or emergency, you authorize the staff of ArtZ Baking Culinary Studio to arrange for yourself/your child/ward to receive such medical care, assistance, and treatment of services as ArtZ Baking Culinary deem necessary. You also undertake to release, discharge, relinquish, hold harmless, pay and reimburse to ArtZ Baking Culinary all costs or expenses in respect of any medical care, assistance, treatment or services provided to you/your child/ward at any time whether such are provided by health care professionals, paramedics or any other person.
- Lost & Found: ArtZ Baking Culinary Studio accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any property lost on our premises. If any property has been left behind and found by us, please arrange with us to collect such property at a convenient time. Any lost property which has not been claimed within 21 days would be disposed of at our discretion.
Etiquette to Observe in Our Physical and Online Classes and within Our Facebook Groups
- Observe Instructions: We appreciate your business and we hope to create a pleasant, fun & safe environment for all participants to learn and have an enjoyable learning experience. Kindly observe the instructions given by instructors and assistants to ensure workshops can run smoothly and safely.
- Decorum & Respect: Please treat ArtZ Baking Culinary Studio, our workspace, its employees and all participants with decorum and respect at all times. As such, we would appreciate every participant to be considerate and courteous to one another, our employees and instructors. Kindly observe off-limits areas for security and privacy reasons.
- Non-Paying Participants: To be fair to all participants, instructor and ArtZ Baking & Culinary, non-paying children/ or individuals will not be permitted to remain in the studio during workshop time, with the exception of paid parent-child participants.
- Photos and Short Video-Taking: Participants are allowed to take photos, very short limited videos (less than 10 mins’ duration) and short limited voice recordings during workshops, unless specifically requested otherwise by instructor. As we will be uploading the class recording to the private Facebook group typically within 48 hours after the scheduled Zoom class, no video recording will be permitted during the online classes. No part of the videos or voice recordings taken during teaching are permitted to be uploaded/shared on any social media platforms or with any non-paying participant. We reserve all rights to demand for the videos or voice recording to be removed immediately from any social media platforms / groups.
- Copyrights: No part of this recipe and contents may be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording, scanning or otherwise, without the prior written permission from the instructor. All Rights Reserved. If any non-compliance is brought to our attention, it will impact on the errant participant’s future enrolment to our classes.
- Privacy: What is shared in the group should stay in the group (private & sensitive). Being part of this group requires mutual trust.
- Photography & Videos for Marketing: ArtZ Baking & Culinary Studio reserves the copyrights of photography and videos taken in class for future promotional purposes, without prior notice. If you do not wish to be included in such, please email [email protected] to inform us prior to the class. Failure to do so will mean that you waive all rights to ArtZ Baking & Culinary to use photos or videos that we have captured during the class.
- No Unrelated & Non-Compliance Posts: Please do not post unrelated posts in our groups! e.g. Live Auctions, Facebook Live Streaming/Sales, racism, political topics, hate speech etc.
- No Self-Promotion: Our Facebook and WhatsApp private groups are also not platforms for participants to drive traffic to their Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube Channel, Blog, Website, Online Sales etc.
- Non-Solicitation of Any Form of Sales / No Spamming by Participants & Guest Instructors: To ensure we have a pleasant & comfortable learning environment for everyone, here are some ground rules we need everyone to adhere to in our studio, online classes, support group chats & Facebook Private / Public Groups by ArtZ Baking & Culinary.
1) We would request participants and guest instructors not to solicit any form of business including sale or advertisement of kitchen equipment/food & non-food items/services during and after the workshop, unless otherwise approved by the owner of ArtZ Baking & Culinary.
2) We appreciate that customers and guest instructors do not private message each other to solicit sales of any kind or coax others to join them for trial lessons. During our classes/events, please do not promote any workshop not hosted by ArtZ Baking & Culinary or discuss other baking or culinary schools.
3) We need everyone to respect the boundaries to avoid any complaint or displeasure to anyone. If we reasonably deem you are not fit to attend a class/event, for example, if you are abusive or likely to disturb or harm others or appear to be under the influence of alcohol at the event, we may need to politely request the errant participant to leave the workshop (and no refund will be given) or remove him / her from the chatgroup if we receive any complaint. - Non-Compliance Penalty: If any non-compliance to our Terms & Conditions is brought to our attention, it will impact on the errant participant’s future enrolment to our classes and online classes. We may need to politely request the errant participant to leave the class or online class or remove him / her from the Facebook group / chatgroup if we receive any complaint. Strictly no refund will be given to errant participants and any non-compliance will impact on their ability to join our future workshops.
Online Classes
- Full Payment to Secure Reservation: Fees for classes must be paid fully in advance to secure your booking. Your reservation is only confirmed once full payment has been received and online registration is completed. Overseas Participants will bear all the bank charges and fees incurred for the funds transfer (eg Inter-bank transfer, Paypal, Wise etc.) and ensure the amount transferred (after deducting all the transfer fees and charges) is at least the same as what was being quoted as the workshop fees.
- All the fees listed in our website is in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and inclusive of GST (Singapore Good & Services tax).
- Access to Online Class & Materials: Once we verify your payment, we will revert typically within 48 hours (unless otherwise stated during registration) with a link for you to join a private Facebook group to gain access to recipe(s), template(s) (if any within the private Facebook group.
- Scheduled Zoom classes: We will revert soonest on a proposed Zoom class timing for you to join the online baking workshop after your payment is received. Participant’s Video via Zoom or similar online platform like Teams has to be turned on at all times during the online training session.
- Q & As: Paid Students will be able to post their questions / queries in the closed groups and instructor will address these queries directly. Please allow at least 48 hours for us to revert to your questions.
- Non-related Q & As: Please note that we would not be able to answer questions unrelated to the intended class content or comment on other recipes that are not written by us, as a form of respect to the recipe originator.
- No Refund Policy & Replacement for Online Class Allowed: Our standard terms & conditions state that we do not offer refunds for online classes or confirmed workshops. If you are unable to join the scheduled Zoom / Facebook Live classes for any reason, you may watch the full class recording within the private Facebook group at your own convenience and address any queries through the group.
- Functioning Facebook Account: Paid participants must have an existing & functioning Facebook account to join the online classes to access the recipes, templates (if any) and videos. We regret we will not be able to email or send videos, recipes, templates (if any) directly to anyone.
- Only 1 Facebook Account for each Paid Participant: We only admit 1 Facebook account for each paid participant into the private Facebook group. Please ensure that the request you send from your Facebook account tallies with the screenshot of the Facebook profile page you submitted to ArtZ Baking & Culinary.
- Facebook Technical Support: Please contact Facebook Help Centre directly for help if you happen to encounter any restrictions / problems with your Facebook account. We regret we do not have the capacity to help resolve any technical issues pertaining to students’ Facebook accounts / difficulties.
