Level of Difficulty: Beginner

Overview

The participants will learn how to make from scratch a brown chicken stock, white chicken stock, vegetable stock (Chef Demo), which is the basis for good cuisine. They will also work on their knife skills required to cut the mirepoix that will be used in the cooking of the brown and white chicken stock.

Chef will demo & teach participants what types of vegetables to use for making a good Vegetable Stock as not all vegetables can be used. This is to reflect the trend of people wishing to go vegan or consume fewer meat products.

With close supervision / coaching by our Chef Instructor Andrew, participants will share out the tasks needed to make Coq Au Vin, this famous French stewed chicken braised in red wine with mushrooms and crisp bacon.

Nothing beats learning directly from an experienced chef who has both professional culinary and patisserie training from Le Cordon Bleu London, coupled with experience running a restaurant In UK.  More so for those who has zero or little culinary experience, you will benefit greatly from learning the basics and culinary knowledge from our highly knowledgeable chef.

For all the above learning modules, we are offering a special fee of SGD 138, instead of the usual fee of SGD 198!

To ensure that our students derive the most out of our culinary workshops, we are limiting the workshop intake to a small class size in a 1000 sq ft culinary studio, with safe distancing measures and online health declaration for safety precautions, to be completed 1 day before class.

Chef Instructor Bio – Andrew Loh:

Chef Andrew started learning from his mum in the kitchen at a young age of 15. The wonders of cooking attracted Chef Andrew in a way beyond his imagination.

After he had finished his studies in the United States, Chef Andrew began his career in the finance industry. Soon after, he got an offer from Le Cordon Bleu London to commence professional culinary and pastries training. He later started up his restaurant & trained his chefs in London which has further honed his culinary and pastries skills in recent years, before he returned to Singapore.

Chef Andrew is passionate about teaching and one of his aspirations is to impart his culinary knowledge and skills to others, especially the next generation to produce better food and reduce food wastage. He has often been described as a very caring and patient instructor to ensure his students derive the most knowledge and skills from his workshops. He hopes that more people will get into the kitchen to whip up pastries and cuisine to have fun, de-stress and make delicious meals for their loved ones.
